Mantra could be spoken or chanted in the mind, it is up to practitioners. Mantra meditation means the meditation with mantra technique. So what is the purpose of doing this while we already have breath meditation – a practice that fit almost everyone?

Generally speaking, not all people can focus entirely on breathing, they often are distracted with waves of thoughts and emotions, which drive them out of meditation state. In this situation, repeating something in your mind or by whispering can be great method to keep concentrating on meditation.

What you need is finding a quiet place, which is available everywhere, from room corner at work, library at schools or your bedroom. Next, you can choose to stand or sit, as long as comfortable, close your eyes and start. Note that some people still have their eyes opened while meditating, again, it is up to you provided that you feel pleasant. Last but not least, focus on your breath and chant your matra. This is important cause you need to empty your mind, set everything aside and only concentrate on repeating your mantra. Combining with normal breath, and you made it.
